"I believe strongly in the purpose of our checkoff dollars. With our pooled resources, we can change our future in so many ways that individually would be difficult, if not impossible. Together, we can open new markets, direct new research, and search for new uses.."

Corn and corn ethanol have been in the news a lot lately, and in many cases they have born the brunt of criticism that higher corn prices caused by ethanol production are driving up food costs. This has led some to push for changes to the Renewable Fuels Standard (RFS).
Corn producers and the Nebraska Corn Board, however, know that the truth in higher food costs is not that simple and that there is ample corn to meet the world’s demands. As it turns out, some of the attacks against ethanol are coming from a coordinated effort sponsored by the Grocery Manufacturers Association. For more information on “Biting the hand that feeds you”, click here to read our news release.
The Nebraska Corn Board has also sponsored “Food Dude” radio advertisements. In a light hearted way, these ads help explain to consumers what’s really behind higher food prices. There are three different ads – click here, here and here – to listen. They each run about a minute.
