New ethanol flex fuel pumps open in Osmond

NCB Logo_colorLincoln, Neb., Two new ethanol flex fuel pumps are now available in Osmond at the Osmond Mini Mart located at 202 East Highway 20.

The Osmond E85 / flex fuel pump is the 84th in Nebraska to offer the renewable fuel. The location offers unleaded gasoline, E10, E30, and E85 available 24 hours a day. Find a current list of Nebraska E85 pumps in Nebraska at the Nebraska Ethanol Board website at www.ne-ethanol.org or check the Nebraska Corn Board website at www.nebraskacorn.org

One in ten Nebraska motorists currently owns a flexible fuel vehicle (FFV) which can run on any blend of ethanol and gasoline, including E85. Drivers can confirm if their car is a FFV by checking their owner’s manual or visiting the Nebraska Ethanol Board website.

“E85 is cleaner than gas, it’s produced here in Nebraska, and more and more cars can use it every year,” said Todd Sneller, Nebraska Ethanol Board administrator. “When FFV drivers fill up on E85, they’re strengthening Nebraska’s economy, making our country more energy independent and going easier on the environment,” Sneller said.

”The addition of this new flex fuel dispenser will ensure that consumers will have more choices at the pump to fuel up their flex fuel vehicle,” said Kim Clark director of biofuels development with the Nebraska Corn Board. Consumers will be able to fill up based on price, performance and availability.

A grand opening for these flex fuel pumps is planned for June 21 from 10:00 am-2:00 pm. During this time E85 will be discounted by $0.85 per gallon, E30 by $0.30 per gallon and E10 by $0.10 per gallon. Lunch will be served from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

These pumps were paid for in part by a grant provided by the Nebraska Corn Board to offer E85 and other mid-level ethanol blends. Husker Ag LLC, a local ethanol plant near Osmond also contributed in part with a grant to make the blender pumps possible.
